Largely focusing upon Young Adult fiction with a Christian slant, the American author Liz Isaacson has been publishing her books for many years now, with a whole host of work set around the themes of inspirational romance and creating worlds and characters that inspire her readers, as she uses her faith to convey a message of goodwill, as she brings a sense of the almost fantastical to her stories, whilst keeping them firmly rooted in the real world at the same time. ![]() ![]() ![]() I found the interactions between characters to be one of the great joys of the novel-the casual banter and minutiae of life making me feel I was there among close friends. The story focuses on relationships, platonic as well as romantic and sexual. If you can forgive him for being human (and you’ll need to a few times) then you’ll likely have a more sympathetic picture of him by the end. The other, Fletcher, is far from perfect, but it’s his journey that makes the story so interesting. One of these characters, Mateo, is so lovable that you’ll be sighing his name into your pillow at night. Excellent in fact!
